Hong Kong BMW

Post by fallingpines »

I find myself in sunny Hong Kong making sure to visit the local BMW dealer while it's snowing back home in Ohio Nice but not too big. Of note is that they are not selling 1200R's yet, however they do have a nice selection of 1150R's in stock. Also they have a nice old R25 on display on the floor.

I have a pic, however am not sure how to attach it.

OK, you are correct, it is mostly overcast, but it's still warm out! I have yet to see a BMW on the road that's not a police bike.

On another side to your visit to the HK BMW dealer - Generally you can buy stuff very cheaply in HK compared to 'back home'. Is that the same with BMW accessories (like clothing)?

I'd be interested in getting a price comparison to stuff here in Aus. My brother seems to go that way reasonably often.

Still in Hong Kong, Kowloon to be more specific. I am with a pal from work who is a GS guy and he is planning on buying a non-US available visored BMW helmet. Not cheap, something around $700 USD from here. I understand that he could get the same helmet in the UK for a couple of hundred less. That being said, I don't think you will find any bargains here. Also of note, all the bikes on the floor are equipped with low seats. Not many long legged folks over here it seems, not surprising.

Actually there is a motorcycle accessory shop about 5 mins walk from the BMW dealer. They sell all types of leathers, apparel, helmets, boots, gloves etc and are fairly reasonably priced. The Arai's and Shoei's I believe are pretty cheap in HK compared to elsewhere. Unfortunately you will not find any bargains on BMW stuff in HK as there is only 1 dealer here. Their prices are not lower than what one see's on US based internet sites. Nevertheless they do carry a decent inventory of stuff for the relatively small market in HK.

Drop me a note if you would like to meet up with some BMW bikers in HK. Or visit the BMW Motorcycle Club website below:
