Just this morning I was moving on the left lane of a barely 2 lane street, the truck in front of me decided to turn left somewhat late, the street had a slight bend left making it hard to see ahead from the right side, I changed lanes and while I started to move alongside the truck, there she was, an old lady about a third way on the pavement waiting to cross the street !!!
I wasn't going fast, but both the poor quality of the pavement and the angle of the bike on the bend blocked my front wheel for a split second until the ABS kicked in... A split second that got the adrenalin going and made me thank god I had ABS on my R.
Worst case scenario if I didn't have ABS would be the front wheel to block, I would fall very near the wheels of the moving truck, the bike would slide towards the old lady ect. ect. ect...
Once again ABS saved saved the day !
A Close one ! (yet another ABS story)

I was riding my wifes honda shadow to San Antonio last week end when traffic suddenly stopped and caught me off guard.I applied the brakes hard and the back brake locked up.So I let off the back brake and continued with the front and managed to stop.
If I were on my rockster I would have simply applied the brakes.
