Thats the temp today in Los Angeles (but the thermometer was in the sun, so I think it was really only in the low 90's). I have a pool in the backyard:

Yesterday I fired up the pool heater (the pool water was only 61F), so today the pool was toasty.

But first, its off on a nice 100 mile mountain ride. No snow along the road this weekend, but there were still some dirt & rocks in a few corners. On the way up to Nucomb's Ranch I saw one bike being hauled down the mountain on a flatbed, heard later the rider was air choppered out.
Being the first day of summer, the LEOs were out in force. One the way up two different speed traps (one being run by the forest rangers no less) and a sighting of old Officer Stout on his RTP.
I followed a R1150S the whole way up & he basically stayed at the limit or 5 over so we had no worries. Nucomb's Ranch by 10:00AM was pretty busy.

There was the coolest HD I've seen to date. An old school (not a fake) hardtail. Here is the owner kick starting it to leave. Took him about 5 minutes. Didn't look like a good bike for a commuter.

I wonder if this was done on the way up? I don't think thats going to buff out.

I also like this Ducati Monster S2R1000. Ohlins front & rear, think thats some serious aftermarket mods.

There was also this nice looking Shelby Cobra. I have no idea if it was a kit car, if it was a kit, it was very good. The glove box door was signed by Shelby himself & by Jay Leno. Actually seemed pretty pretentious.

Oh, almost forgot about this Aprilla

After a bite to eat & some time looking at bikes I took a ride up the hill to the end of the road. On the way down going by Nucomb's a flatbed towtruck turned left right in front of me (he was being waved on by an idiot woman not watching traffic), & I think the driver was watching the woman instead of the road. Hard brakes & no real drama. The truck driver, realizing his mistake, floorded the truck across the road.
On the way down the hill went past a crashed KTM (950? or some similar size bike) on the side of the road with Officer Stout doing some accident survey measurements. The rider or life emergency vehicles were not around. When I got down to Nine Mile road I ended up behind 2 riders on Honda STs (one two up), the same guys I had seen accidently knock their bikes over at Nucomb's. Not surprisingly, they were going at max the limit of 45 (Nine Mile has some true 100mph sweepers). But given this was the first day of summer, & the level of enforcement, I was content to follow anyway. Besides, it let me ponder how I liked their dayglow one piece riding suits (two hot pink, one lime).
At the intersection of Nine Mile & Angeles Forest Rd there were maybe 30 cars & 150 bikes. A helicopter had just taken off, & I'm about 99 percent sure another rider was down. The accident scene broke just when I got there & I just went down the hill & home.
So it was time for a swim. Here's the kids (well, 2 of 3) jumping in.

And finally, one of me jumping in.

Opps, shutter went off a bit late.
