Hey guys, I saw this doodad on ebay that claims to boost BP by tricking the O2 sensor. I'm extremely skeptical, given that it says the same chip is for the 1150 and 650. Any thoughts? link:

I call bullsh*t
Looks like crap to me. Technical issues aside, the auction writeup reads like it was written by a Nigerian scammer. It's in Eastern Europe (yeah I know the guy was compelled to label it "European Union". Note the Dyno (sic) test charts. What bike is that? Stock HP of 150 enhanced to 170 ??? Doesn't sound like a BMW 650, 1100, 1150, or R1200 to me. The thing isn't even made for motorcycles. From their eBay ad:
"Check colors and the operations of each wire in the MAGNUM and the car user guide!"
10 year warranty ? What are you going to do if/when it doesn't work ? Send it back to Budapest ?
seisouso, the answer to your question is 'Yes". What bike do you have now ?

best bike in the world!
I have an 04 R1150r, ferro. I bought it a year ago and I love it. I have no desire for another one, not even the r1200r. However, I wouldn't be opposed to making it a tad faster. I don't want to blow my budget though, I'd much rather get a new seat than a chip for the same price.

+1 - I love that color.TonyT607 wrote:I love that ferro color, I would have gone for that if it was available when I bought my RR.
I would be leary of any cheap HP gain for ANY vehicle. If it was sooo good, it would cost more. There are people on this board that have done extensive modifications looking for more power and the boxer motor doesn't seem to have too much lost power hidden away.
Cheap HP - I have some land on the moon I'll sell you too!

thanks
I love my color too. One cheap thing I did do was take off the muffler. I got the idea from this board, and I'm glad I did. It sounds better, but I don't know if it has any more horsepower. It seems like it would help the engine breathe with less exhaust restriction, but I have no idea how much restriction the original exhaust had. It did relieve the bike of quite a bit of weight, which probably has a bigger effect. In fact, now that I think of it, one of the cheapest ways for me to make my bike faster would probably be a diet.

By the cheap price, I smell a rat. A rat that knows how to make money on a sure thing.
How? His "component" can be nothing more than a dummy, empty hook-up that serves only to electrically disconnect the O2 sensor from the Motronic.
It runs richer, HE takes the credit and lots-o-money.
It can be a simple capacitor/resistor/transistor circuit that actually does what is claimed, but I listen to the little voice in my head when it says "buyer beware".
