There were seven brave and hearty souls who gathered at the Waffle House at exit 278 on I-75 north of Atlanta. Three LTs, two GSs, an RT and a R in a pear tree.
That's right, it was damn cold! 25F would be a pretty accurate estimate.

The "over the hill" gang saddled up and took off on a northerly route through hill and dale.

No ice on the roadways. We saw a few ponds frozen over, and some ice cascading down from the rocks along the road, but no slick roads.
By the time we arrived at our first fuel stop, the temps had risen to a balmy 31F....Still no sunshine to speak of.
The valley we rode through is one of the most beautiful (and secret) in all of north Georgia. Simply a pleasure!

We ended up in Summerville and ate lunch at a place called Jim's. It was a little country buffet style with fried chicken, steak and mashed potatoes with black-eyed peas, cornbread, etc. all for $4.55!
Even with the afternoon constant farting, it was well worth it!
After lunch it had warmed up considerably to around 45-50 so I shed some layers. As we wound our way back south, one after one of the party peeled off for more direct routing home.
Our last stop of the day gave us the scenic view of a Cedar Town gas station and a Harley on back of a Georgia custom truck!

What a day! The bike ran great as usual, and the company was superb.
Wish you were here.
