The interesting part of this trip (because there always is one), is that I spent about 30-45 minutes communicating with a deaf mute about BMW's. Really. He couldn't hear anything I said and he couldn't talk at all, but we had a wonderful conversation about BMW's and all the nice things on them. He liked the accessory plug a lot and it was great watching him laugh about it. He has had three different bikes. The only one I remember is the KTM (because I like them too). He told me about a friend of his who was killed in a motorcycle accident while passing a guy on a twisting road. So then he cautioned me. Yet, he never spoke a word and never heard audibly what I said. But we were able to communicate like we had known each other for a long time. I thought about that a lot when I drove away. Certainly, if I can communicate and converse so vividly and coherently and with such understanding with a man who could not hear or speak, shouldn't I be able to communicate clearly with those who can? Yet, I seem to have trouble there. Go figure. It's probably because he had to pay attention and not judge my motives in order to keep up with the conversation and I had to be deliberate and not hide my intent behind a facade in the things I said. Maybe we could all learn something from that!
Back to the FZ!. It ran great. And it ran FAST! But, it does seem to idle fast compared to my RR, but the thing is really fast!!! I may be addicted, EXCEPT that I still think my RR handles better and feels more solid. I still think that if I had to give up one bike - it would be the FZ. It's fast, but this RR is just as fun and fast enough for me. I can't hold on past 115 mph anyway!
