Lake Tahoe Aspen and Kokanee

Post by taosports »

Last weekend I took a drive to Tahoe to check out the Kokanee salmon that were making their fall spawning run up Taylor Creek. It was fascinating to see the bright red salmon make their way up the shallow waters of the creek. An added bonus of the trip were all the beautiful aspen.

No motorcycle pics in this but it is BMW related since we went in my lady friend's BMW convertible. :D

Anyway, enjoy the slide show.

Incredible, Michael. It looks like you could have just reached down and grabbed one of those salmon with your hands (if you were quick enough)! And the photography was so good - I QUIT!!!!

Zip lock bag, scuba gear and a very warm wetsuit.

But if you want the truth, they have an interpretive center there with a viewing room built next to the stream. Similar to an aquarium but you're seeing the salmon in their natural habitat.

Off to the work now...I'm in Detroit covering the Oakland A's - Detroit Tigers playoff games where the weather is a bit too cold for this California skin. :? But the way the A's are playing, I'll be back home in sunny California on my bike real soon!

No, no , no GypsyRR! You've got a great eye and I always enjoy your photos.

I appreciate everyone who takes the time to post their trip stories and photos. It's one of the reasons I enjoy this board.

More photos everyone!

My favorite is the bird taking flight with the people on the bridge in the background, well done.

Just goes to show you don't always need a bike to have great ride.

Keep up the great work!
