hi, all
i just signed up today, one quick question ? i traded my 650 cs for a 80 edition rock, i collect it on wed next the dealer is fitting new tyres on her, what tyre is best suited to her, thanks

The usual questions apply:
1) What kind of riding will you be doing?
2) What kind of mileage do you expect?

Sporting tires that I have had = Metzeler Sportec M3s & Michelin Pilot Powers, love them both

Sport Touring Tires that I have had = Metzeler Roadtec Z6s & Michelin Pilot Roads, I prefer the Z6s.

YMMV literally & figuratively. Others prefer Pirelli, Continental, Avon, Dunlop & Bridgestone

general use i guess a bit of everything from commuting to twisties,
prob do 10,000 mls per year, i had dunlop 207,s on the cs and found then ok,

Congrats on the new bike..and welcome aboard...I have Pirelli's and love them...I think all new tires in all brands will be good...
I don't think there are any duds out there these days..
the big 1150 has so much more engine brake than your old bike so go easy (smooth) on letting out the clutch when changing down...
you're gunna love this bike..

i have been looking out for a rockster since 2004, i have only seen one on the road here, quiet rare, so when one came up for sale i jumped on it,
when i collect on wed i have a 200mile trip home so smiles all the way i hope , happy days

for all around use the metzeler Z6 seems to be the consensus favorite. i like mine MUCH better than the stock 207's.

I went from Pilot Roads to Z6's recently. Didn't really notice any difference. I just hope the Z's last as long.

i was just on to the dealership and they said that the most popular tyre for the rockster is either a dunlop or a pilot road, i,ll give em the benifit of the doubt for the time being, if they are crap i,ll post my 2 cent worth

I do in excess of 30K per annum and have tried Z6/Conti Road Attack/Pilot Sports/BT020/M1&Z6 combo, and the Stradas are my favourites. Need to try the Pilot Powers.

HI! I switched my CS for the Ed80. Watch out for the extra 100 pounds!!

I've got Metzler Z6's. Love them. The bike came with M1s. Stickier, but I only got about 3K miles out of the rear.

What was your mileage on the Michelins?

The dealer said they were absolutely done -- at 8,000 miles. The rear was pretty flat in the middle, but there was tread left, and plenty on the sides. They don't have a wear indicator bar. Most of my riding is straight-line, at 70 or so, carrying maybe 250 pounds in rider and travelling gear. I run 42 pounds pressure in the rear, 39 in the front.
