Another Fishy Picture Story

Post by taosports »

Hi all. Thought I'd share some photos of my ride yesterday although in this case, it isn't at all about the ride, rather, the destination. The ride was straight, boring freeway...but the destination was special.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium (CA) is just 90 minutes away from my house so I decided to check out the Great White Shark they have in captivity. It is their 2nd great white...the previous one did well but was too aggressive (surprise, surprise) so they released it. This one was caught in southern California and is doing well after just a month in it's new home.

So here's the obligatory bike shot...my R parked near Cannery Row which you can see in the backgroud. It's the closest I could get to the aquarium although I'm sure DJ would have had his bike right next to the shark.

The rest of the photos are all of the aquarium. It's a 3 minute slideshow with audio so if you're at work, turn the volume down. If you're at home, crank it up!

Enjoy :D

Very nice..great music..and some great shots there....thanks.

A surf photographer once told me of how he did a shark filming trip and was filming harmless reef sharks down under with a group..underwater.

He asked to go down alone for some more shots..he did..he came up and said "you should have seen this real biggie..it came right up close..and I got some great close-ups of it"

After they checked out his pictures..he was told that the great big one was in-fact a 'Great White'.. ..he said he nearly wet himself.

Awesome slide show - love the music. The jellyfish shots were especially sweet.

I used a program called Sound Slides which is flash based. Very quick and easy to use. For editing the sound, I used Audacity - another easy application to use and FREE!
