Completed the IB SaddleSore 1000 & BunBurner 1500

Post by Boxer »

Just completed the Iron Butt basic rides this week on Wednesday and Thursday. I've discovered my butt is more like tin...or aluminum.

Great report Phil,
How the hell do you ride all that way on that seat? Do you have the stock one on? I'd have to stand up for the last 900!

Congrats, and welcome to the club!! Your trip report was awesome.

I have done a few of these rides now, and I learn something new every time. One tip I picked up long ago was to take a couple of Motrin when I leave, and then one small one every couple of hours. This seems to really help keep soreness out of the back, knees and shoulders.

LR riding isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I really like it. I was riding home (Nashville) from Denver yesterday, and was really glad that I had some IB experince behind me. It made my 850 mile day yesterday go very smoothly.

Phil, Congratulations, Great write-up!! I am going to use it as an inspiration, and plan one of the IB basic rides for myself, In fact last night I was on "Streets & Trips" doing a layout, I hope I can get organized before the snow flys and maybe get it done. Did you have any problems getting people to sign off for you? Thanks again, Good Job, Den
