The first time went well but was just a short ride. I was bright enough to take it easy. Knew that if I did, there was a chance she might ride with me again.
It worked. Yesterday, she suggested we go for another ride. WooHoo!
So, today we went out to the coast and up twisty Highway 1 along the ocean to Gualala where we had lunch, checked out a favorite photo gallery of ours and headed back to her home. A 250 mile ride. And the best part is, she wants to ride again!
But here’s where it all went wrong.
When I got to my home, I called her up to thank her for suggesting the ride and to tell her again how much I enjoyed spending the day with her. So far, so good. Then she asked how my ride home was and before even thinking, I said it was great. “The bike handled so much differently without the, uh, without…uh, well you know…it felt great. The ride home was good.†I said.
“You mean, without the extra weight on the back?†she asked.
Couldn’t get out of this one…the damage was done.
