Just got my 02 R1150R Yellow Jacket...I'm addicted!

I was fortunate enough to pick up an 02 R1150R Yellow Jacket this weekend...only 15k miles, meticulously cared for...and for 6k!
I have owned Japanese bikes as long as I have been riding, so nothing could have prepared me for the pure, unadulterated FUN that came with this beemer.
I bought the bike in San Diego and rode it back to the Bay Area (a trip I have made many times on other bikes), and could not wipe the ear-to-ear grin off my face for the duration.
I am now completely, utterly addicted. I took the bike up to skyline via my favorite road, (King's Mountain) and WOW...this bike can handle anything I throw at it.
I have been sneaking out at lunch to squeeze in a few more minutes with the bike whenever I can. I just can't get enough.
When the bike became available through a friend of a friend, I did as much research as I could, and continually came back to these forums for guidance. It was the level of enthusiasm that I found here that ultimately tipped the scales for me.
Thank all of you for lighting the way to the most exhilarating, enjoyable ride I have owned.
Now...back to riding before anyone catches me!

Good isn't it! Welcome to the world of beemers! I park mine in the workshop so I can see it from my desk... and visit/polish/play whenever I feel the need

Yeah...it's even a little rediculous. I sat there and looked at it in my parking spot for a good 30 minutes yesterday...just circling around it, checking it out form every angle. I LOVE THIS THING!

Good choice Crashfaster.

I also have 2002 YJ and found that the desire to ride was just so strong that a 5-minute local ride doing some chores would turn into a full day, 700km spin. Getting home only to want to turn around and do it all again! (And no, not because of the ear-bashing I got for being out soooo long!).

The down side (if there is one) to all this riding, is the bike doesn't get cleaned quite as often as it should. I bought it to ride, not wash.

Thanks for the warm welcome, all. I've already put everything else on hold and planned an impromptu trip down the coast this weekend to try to sate the beast!

I can get worse, you might want more than one!

I currently live in Orange County but once a month I trailer my bike to Saratoga with the wife to visit family. I usually take the R/R for Saturday rides up and down various roads along Skyline with a breakfest stop at Skylonda (Alice's).

Maybe see you there sometime.

I just got in some of the best riding ever this weekend. I'm 100 miles short of clearing 2k on this bike in only a week! I drove down through Big Sur along coast highway 1...and took some of the side roads recommended in this month's issue of Motorcycle Escape. Simply stunning. And fun.
Now my only problem is that I'm trying to figure out how I can quit my job and fund a 4 corners trip!
