R in the movies !

Post by Kazushi »

Last night I watched a movie called Ultraviolet, the story was based on a futuristic sci-fi comic book story, lots of death, blood, and violence, the heroine (a great looking brunet) managed to kill over 700 bad guys !

Anyway, in the beginning there was a nice motorcycle - helicopter chase using a silver R1150R (with white signal lights, sports fairing and the side case hardware installed)...

The R gave the apache chopper a run for it's money, on the road, on the side of buildings, even airborne and through the chopper open side doors !!! it was sad to see the R crash through a wall at the end of the scene (I wonder did they have the cover protectors installed ?)

Yeah I know, a bit far fetched, but the R look soooooo good !!

see, and the bike seen left a bad taste in my mouth. I thought it was cool they used an R but the whole sequence was badly green-screened and you could tell she wasn't moving when she was on the bike.

Anyway, Milla Jovovich is pretty hott so it can make up for some bad parts.

Paycheck

Post by qfman »

I found the Rockster chase in the film Paycheck a bit more fun. Ben Affleck and Uma Thurman.

The plot wasn't anything much though....

You want to talk about plot? I just rented Ultraviolet to see the chase scene; what a piece of crap. I watched all of 15 minutes of it. The movie is 88 minutes long, 85 more then it need be.

I like to think BMW didn't pay product placement and they actually choose the R because it was cool...

YES! SILVER RULES
It would be a little odd to pay product placement for a model that is being discontinued/updated.

BUT,
Silver is good. :smt023

Thanks for saving me the rental fee for that movie. I was going to rent it just for the fact that it had a silver roadster in it.

Silver is the ultimate color for an R! 8)

The movie is not worth renting, the only reason I watched it was that I got it for free !!!
I'm planning to rip the chase scene with the R, I'll make it available for download...

I just saw this movie on the Action movie channel. Stunning special effects, but a story line that was weak. But the bike! Oh my!!!
(but they used inline 4 sound effects..)

Some magic vortex jumping/crystal ball/communication orb, that also makes the R ride up buildings. Twisted Throttle sells them.
