Boise Bound with Mike & Mike (Pics)

Post by DSKYZD »

THE LAUNCH

20060701 09:00
I pull in to the parking lot of the Apple Tree Family Restaurant just off I-81 in VA at exit 45 near Marion and find wncbmw talking to machew01 and MikeCam. [Note the proximity to Hungry Mother State Park. Hint-hint, Wink-wink, Nudge-nudge (the uninitiated can see Group Rides for enlightenment)]

Machew01 arrived first and was still taking his gear off as MikeCam arrived. Vann could see MikeCam go by as he was coming down the exit ramp. They all came from different directions and left at different times but nailed the arrival within 2 or 3 minutes of each other. I came along less than 10 minutes later, at exactly 9:00. (Only Geezers arrive early!)

My whole family came with me so I was in the car instead of on the bike. We exchanged hellos and shook hands then went inside to eat. It was good to see the guys again and they were all smiles and full of excitement. The food and conversation were both excellent. We had a leisurely breakfast together but soon it was time for them to be on their way.

Back outside they geared up:

We said our goodbyes and MikeCam got a good luck hug from my girlfriend Suzanne, no I mean my WIFE Beverly!

And they're off:

Vann and I talked for just a couple of more minutes then he headed out to scratch on the same twisty roads I visited last weekend.

The Boise Bound Launch Party went off perfectly.

God Speed and good luck gentlemen! I've started this thread for you, now it's your job to finish it.

Is someone going to be posting daily reports and pictures on their ride? That would be cool if we could follow it.

Kristi,

The guys are equipped to post while on the road depending on connectivity. We should see some reports from them. Stay tuned!
