Performance chip question.

Post by beemer-biker »

Can someone please tell me where/how to change the performance chip OUT of my bike? It came with one in place when I bought it used, but I want to swap the stock one back in to see if it helps some other areas. I am not so concerned with any "loss" of performance, since it was probably negligible to start with.
Thanks

This may sound like a dumb question, but is there any way to tell if my bike has a chip in it, aside from disassembling it and pulling the control unit. I bought my '02 used near the end of last year from the local dealer. They could give me little info on the bike aside from the obvious instaliation of a Remus titanium exhaust. I have noticed that the bike does seem to run rich, as I can wipe my finger in the tip and get a fair amount of soot. The mileage of the bike is also nothing to write home about.

Lobo, I don't think there is any other way to check. Maybe a better mechanic has better info. Mine also runs very rich, which is one of the problems I would like to see fixed. Not sure it will make a diff, but I am hoping it will.
