Was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of, or have seen these driving lights by SAENG Corp. They look like a pretty slick set up and I like they are adjustable instead of fixed. I have looked at the motolites and have looked at different brackets for the PIAA lights, but they all seem fixed in place for the most part.
Im not sure how to post a link, but http://www.saeng.com/
Any other ideas on driving lights appreciated

Overpriced night cutters?
$15 for a replacement H3 bulb is almost 200% more than the going rate.
They are $5.86 at Susquehanna (see link). So maybe the Night Cutter is similiarly marked up? $392.00? I don't think so. Not without some serious
investigation.

for lots of options.

"none.nada.thank you."
I wouldn't buy
I had a pair of the nightcutter with those mounts. One important thing to be aware of--the base of the light housing is a ball and socket affair. Those screws you see in the picture hold two halves of the socket together. They screw into PLASTIC on the other side of socket. I found no way to get the socket tight enough to hold the lights in place without stripping them out. I ended up having to buy longer screws, drill holes right through the other side of the sockets and using nuts to get them tight enough. The entire light is basically plastic, so somewhat cheap in my opinion (metal name plates fell off, etc.) I also thought the light output wasn't very impressive. I'm much happier w/ my PIAA 910s with 110W bulbs (don't think they're made any longer). My two cents.

Thanks for the couple of responses. I passed on the expensive lights in part to the feedback and lack of on this forum and the forum on the BMW site. If they are so great, more people would have them and something to say good about them. These forums are so good for that kind of stuff. I ended up getting a set of small mounts from Creative Cycle Concepts and a pair of lights to go on them, for a total of $144. The lights look like they may be on the inexpensive side so they may be replaced eventually, but they will work for now. Just need to find time to get in the garage and get them hooked up.
Thanks everyone

I finally did it. I mustered up some courage
and got to work on installing my new driving lights. I was wee bit apprehensive
about taking the tank off and everything, but after some careful reading of the manual and some snooping on the forums here and at BMW, I got it off, got my new lights installed and the rats nest of wires all tucked away and everything put back together and it STARTS and the lights WORK! As you might have guessed, I don’t feel all that comfortable taking apart my baby like that. I will do most any project around the house and like working with wood, but I didn’t want to hurt my baby. It’s all done though and I am happy with how it turned out and looks. Now I just need to take her for a spin and check the aim of the new lights. While I was at it, I also made some protective grills for my oil coolers. All in all, a good days work and the bike looks pretty good.
Haven't ever put pix here before and just registered with the photobucket place, so here it goes. This just shows the bike from the front so you can see the lights and the grill screens.

This was the scariest part for me!

Oil cooler screens
Your oil cooler screens look great! The Mrs. saw the "official" Winderlich items in a catalog somewhere and loved 'em... until she saw the price. So, home-made versions are DEFINITELY on our To Do list.
What type of screen material did you use? Easy to cut/trim to fit? Any tricks to securing the material in the oil cooler cover openings?
Great install!
