Beakster sightings over the weekend. IL/IN/OH

Post by Optimus Prime »

I rode from Peoria, IL to Cleveland, OH on Friday and the reverse Monday. Route 74 between Peoria and Indy, Route 70 between Indy and Columbus, and Route 71 between Columbus and Cleveland.

I saw a couple 1150r riders on the trip and wanted to see if it was any of you crazy cats.

-I saw two riders (both beemers, at least one was an R) east of Bloomington heading west on 74 around 9am central time Friday. I believe one rider was wearing that burn your retna yellow Aerostitch

-I saw a couple on an R heading towards Columbus on route 70 midday monday.

-I saw a few more, but can't remember the locations.

I was wearing my red aerostitch with a silver helmet.

First two picks are at home before the trip. Third pic is from my pitstop in Springfield, OH. Fourth pic is from my pit stop in Crawfordsville, IN. With the Aeroflow touring screen and tank wings I get no buffeting at any time. I cruise at about 90 mph with my face shield up, even behind semi's. Just have to keep an eye out for revenue collectors. They were thick as thieves in Ohio. Parking on the middle median up against the wall with LIDAR guns. I can usually make the 170-180 miles between fillups in a little over 2 hours, but in ohio it almost took me 3 because I was forced to drive the speed limit nearly the whole time.

What's with the Paddington bear on the back...Is he for security?
Does he back seat drive?

I once met a bycyclist I chatted with on the Ferry accross the Columbia at Cathlamet Washington....He was riding accross the US with a plastic pink flamingo on his bike...He was doing it on a dare from his buds.

Just kind of a fun thing I started doing. It's a little piece of home I bring around with me. And after all, Paddington is a born adventurer, to leave him at home seems cruel.

I live in Cedarville, OH, a mere 5 minute ride from Springfield. I travel from home to Columbus and Cleveland all the time--coulda been me you saw!
God, Family, Country, BMW...in that order.
