The pictures here are the result of a chance find in the local DIY shop, about an hour with a pair of tin snips and some patience.

One question, though - anyone think this may have sufficint effect on the air-flow to cause any problems

I went through all 17 pages of the public vehicles index and didn't see any albums that obviously were about your bike and the oil coolers. What's the name of your album?

Your cooler screens look good. I don't think you'll have any problems, as I see that BMW of Santa Cruz sells screens that look to have about the same mesh size. I think their price is $109.00 a pair so I,d say you did good.How did you attach them to the coolers?

Croc, I am able to see the pictures. The screens look good. I had the same ides a few weeks ago and was going to use radiator screen from the hardware store, same idea, just more ornate of a pattern in the screen. I had the same concern though, that it may block some of the air flow. Your screen looks like a more open pattern than the stuff I look at though. How did you hold it in place? In looking at your photos again, I dont think you will have an air flow problem. I think they will work good and they great on the best color of them all...silver!

You have inspired me. I will make a trip to a bigger hardware store to see what they have.

I finally see 'em! Look great, very neat fitting job. What holds them in there? Like the other guys said I can't see that causing any problems, plenty of holes in there plus it comes in round the sides as well.

Thanks for all the positive comments - the hassle with the pictures was worth it after all.

I cheated a bit with the fixings. I first cut out a template of the inside of the cowl from cardboard and then bent the inner side over 90 deg. This is just the section near the BMW roundel. Then with a bit of care (and a few small cuts on my hands from the sharp edges!) put the cowl back in situ and that holds the mesh firmly in place! No holes, rivets, super-glue or anything like that. I will post a picture of the inside but it will have to be at the weekend but really not a lot to see.

One last thing I want to do is locate some edging strip (it will need to be very small) and run it down the exposed edge. Job done!!!
