clear lens
info from those of you with the clear turn sig. please.When you replace the lens from amber to clear do you also change the bulb or anything else to get the correct looks. Also info on best place to buy would be helpful. I really like the way they look on your bikes .Thanks in advance from Seahawk land.

There are a few things to know....first....purchase the lenses from your BMW dealer..they're cheap...only a few dollars each.
Then buy new bulbs/globes...you have two choices here...orange bulbs/globes...or...silver bulbs/globes that glow orange when lit..(that's what I have)...and be careful to get the right pin combo..some are oposite..some are off-set..check what are in there now.
Now here's the important bit...when you swap the lenses to the new clear lenses they will not fit without a small mod first...you need a file to file a small plastic tab that is not on the orange ones...if you look close you will see the difference.
I'll take a pic if you like..showing where to file...???
One last thing...screwing in the small screws can often crack the new clear lenses...be very carefull...or drill out the holes just a wisker..or use a drop of oil on the thread.

You can find amber bulbs at any auto parts store. You'll want the 1156 bulbs (single contact).
On my bike I have amber bulbs up front and red in rear because I use the turn signal lights as running lights (a mode available through Kisan's Signal Minder).
Red bulbs are a bit more difficult to find so I order them online through this company :

The bulbs you'll want are : LB1156RJ - 1156 Red Japanese No Fade Bulb ($14.80 for 2 bulbs)
I've run the same set of bulbs on the high setting (most intensity) day and night as running lights for over 14,000 miles so I'm pleased with their longevity.

My dealer sold the clear kit with amber bulbs for $14.95 US.
I got blue Ambers from AutoBarn.com. 1156 is the number I think but someone else here can confirm the number, please be sure.
They are blue when off, and Amber when lit. It's a cool look.
