Windshield reviews requested ! !

Post by israel »

I am unhappy with the one that came with my R.
The short one. I took it off but need the wind protection.
Turbulence got so bad I pulled to the side of the road and
from my seat pulled real hard and bent it. l to / kind...
I did not care if it broke. It did not.
It improved some; I still get some wind buffeting and some noise.
I am 5'7.
I am looking for the 'best' windshield.
By the way, the one on my Guzzi V11Sport is perfect ! !
I can cruise 140 km all day ! ! !
I never thought about it till now.
Is there a manually adjustable screen out there??
Commets, sugs ? ?

Parabellum

These guys make good, quiet screens; I replaced the stock screen on my 1987 R80RT with one of theirs and was very satisfied.

I don't like a screen on my R1100RA; the original owner had the BMW screen and I took it off after a couple of months and never put it back.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

Screens

Post by MIXR »

I love my New Zealand screen (Bikescreens.com). Bolts to the existing fly mounts and just needs some packing on the top holes to push the angle more upright, plus some rubber edging where the screen rests on the headlight shell. The rubber stiffents the whole thing up and stops the flimsy fly mounts from vibrating.

I can highly recommend the Aeroflow products. Either the Sport Half-fairing or Touring Half-fairing. I have the Sport Half fairing and like it very much. The 4 arm bracket is very solid, installed on the handle bar brackets.

You can call them and talk to them easily and in great detail. They are the Iron Butt Association shields of choice. Their Tank Wings are also an excellent product.

PM me for a pdf of the R1150R literature

Another suggestion or two

I recently saw a very nice looking bike with a Fallert fairing on it, but I have no idea where to find one.

Givi makes a nice-looking fairng-type windshield---the A650, I think.

Another vote for the Parabellum screen. It works great.
