Idle speed question

Just had my 12,000 mile service done at the local BMW place.

I really can't remember the "before" but now the bike idles right at 1,000 rpms. This seems low and now I have to give it little gas to keep it running at start-up...but it idles OK when warmed up and runs fine.

I'll check my non-BMW service manual tonight but I wanted others input.

My bike used to idle at 1000rpm. after the last service they have increased it to 1100 - 1200rpm.

But I never experienced the need to keep her running.

Can't say that mine was 1000; it's slightly lower than that when cold started.

Turn your BBBPSs counterclockwise just a smidgen in equal amounts. Cold starts will be lower but the hi-idle lever compensates until it's warmed up. When its warm it should be at 1100RPMs.

As per the manual its supposed to be 1100 rpm. Take it back to the dealer, don't mess with it, if they screwed it up, they should fix it.

Why don't you use the hi idle lever at cold start up as Boxer suggested? Its in front of the clutch reservior. Sounds like its doing what its supposed to do.

I did...still needs throttle help.
