r1150r listed as discontinued
It may be old news but I was cruising over at bmwoa and there was file that showed that for MY 2006 the r1150r is to be discontinued. The document date was december of 05. I would attach the pdf but not sure how.

Discontinued
Eventually, we'll all be in the discontinued category along with our bikes.
We will all become collectables.
We will all become collectables.
Re: Discontinued
Some of us, sure. But, I'm afraid I wasn't maintained well enough to hold my value.KHaynes wrote:We will all become collectables.

here is the link

If that does not post correctly go to http://www.bmwoa.org and it is on the front page.
I went back and read all the way to the bottom and the odd thing in the file was that it shows information for a 2006 model at the bottom. It may be that there may still be some units that will be badged as 2006 models.

That's my opinion too. Of course from Dean it isn't an opinion but inside information.Of course it is on its way out the door, the R1200R is on its way in.
Slyderule, what do you think about those Sooners beating Oregon in the bowl game. I thought they looked pretty good. With Leinart, Bush and Vince Young gone off to the NFL, I think Peterson has a good shot at the Heisman this year.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

long live the R1150R
i notice that the document does not list the f800.
is that any reason to question the completeness of the 2006 list?
later in the document, they list a 2005 R1500R but i thought that the last ones made were 2004
color me confused

OU beating Oregon
New2bmw
Enjoyed beating Oregon. I watched the game at one of the big sports bars in Norman, home of the Sooners. The red-shirt freshman quarter back, Rhett Bomar, has enough talent to keep defenses off balance. I think it will keep the linebackers and safetys guessing. When Adrian gets in the open no one can catch him. Problem is that only 3 starters on the offensive line are returing, but there is a lot of talent committed. Almost all the defense is coming back
Talking about the Texas game, if you don't know, most Oklahoma fans absolutely hate Texas. So much so that one of the guys sitting next to me at the sports bar said he was going to root for USC. Sooner fans, myself included really dislike USC. It goes back the bad call in the end zone many years ago that we all still remember. I did find out one other school that hate Texas as bad as OU fans and that is Texas A&M. My youngest daughter goes there.
The first year I had the 1150 I took my oldest daughter (She was in grad school in Bio-engineering at the time) to OU games on the bike. Quite a few people were looking at the bike, or was it at my daughter wondering why a good looking chick was on the back of a bike with a 50 year old guy

Slyderule;
As an OU grad and 35 year fan of the football program, I have the same feelings as you. I can't imagine any OU fan rooting for USC. Like most OU fans, I hated USC long before last years nightmare. I'll even root for Notre Dame when they play USC.
I hate UT too, but they are our favorite rival and they're in our conference. I'll root for Texas any day before I give a rats @ss about USC (Or any other PAC10 team!).
I like Reggie Bush (mostly) but as mean as it sounds, I hope that Matt Leinart becomes the next Ryan Leaf of the NFL.
Now, back to your regurlary scheduled programming. Sorry for the hijack.

other sooners must also have a problem as this note is circulating:
We all need to say this prayer in order to accept what we have done:
Forgive Me Father For I Have Sinned...
I rooted for Texas.
I rooted because I live in the heartland and couldn't take another year of "USC's invincibility."
I rooted because of the 47-game winning streak.
I rooted because of my Big 12 loyalty.
I rooted because all my Longhorn friends cheered for us at the Holiday bowl. (like I believe that!!!)
I'm glad Texas won.
I feel SO, SO, SO dirty.
I hate Texas.
Amen.
BOOMER SOONER!!!
