I saw the PDF info previously, but the one I saw had blanks on the HP & Torque graphs.
That HP curve, smooth all the way to 8500 rpms.
Thats going to be a boxer with a fun party zone.
Gotta figure out how to need a second bike. Looks like the S would be a fun commuter & play bike, keep the RR for longer hauls.

Very intresting studying the HP graph, with out saying so, it looks like the rev limiter cuts in at 9K RPM while on my ST the rev limiter appears to cut in at 8.2 to 8.3 K R's. The graph also shows a steepining of the HP curve at the 6 K mark just as the ST does. The ST is a blast between the 6 K mark and the rev limiter, extremely smooth and pulls like a freight train. With the tranny in my ST and now in the new S there is a 1,000 - 1,100 RPM drop between gears allowing my ST to always to stay in that fun RPM range which is just an absolute blast. This R1200S looks like it will have a 3 K RPM serious "party zone" as opposed to a 2 K zone with the ST, with a lighter bike yet and 10-12 HP more with a 50% bigger party zone, better brakes and better handling and a bike that is as easy to live with and is as comfortable as a typical Beemer.....Watch out. Compare riding a 999 3 or 400 miles in a fun afternoon with riding a Beemer S or ST the same afternoon, not in the same universe IMHO.
I road my ST with a beautiful red 999 at Big Bend and when push came to shove in the real world the ability to play Go-Fast in the corners was only a matter of who had the bigger "Huevos" but in the streights the 999 was only ever so slightly faster than the ST, bare in mind that we both of were running well into the high 140's.
What I am saying is that with this new S, at least at about 5,000 ft elevation where we played, good roads with their normal bumps and undulations, there would have been no contest at all.....no bragging....just fact.
This new R1200S is definitely my kind of bike, you couldn't spend enough money on a R1100S to come within 70 to 80 % of the new S.
Just my opinion.
