Sounds a load to me. I live in what is usually a damp part of the US and have tried a lot of different anti-fog solutions. Never, ever heard of Cat Crap. Pig Snot yes, Cat Crap no.
A former board member here invented a product, tested it with a bunch of us, and named it FogTech. It really works. Really, really.
I have used it for a couple of years now and can tell you it does work well. I first ran across it skiing at Whistler a couple of years ago and it worked great on my ski goggles. I have been using it on my motorcycle helmet recently and it works better than the Rain-X anti fog. The only issue with it is that it has to be reapplied almost daily for it to work.

All you need is a small drop of dishwashing liquid on your finger and some water. Rub it inside your shield. If it smears, you need more water. Stops fogging. Can't beat the price.
While we're on the subject: Instead of paying $15 for a sun shield put some electrical tape on the shield. Put it on the inside if possible. Works great.
I have been meaning to try the dish washing liquid thing, and if it works, add a small container to my bag of face shield cleaning stuff in the tank bag. But I never think of it until I am 1/2 mile into my next ride and the shiel fogs up!

I have Cat Crap. It works OK, just like most other anti-fog solutions.
I also have something that a surgeon gave me to try out. They use it on their glasses in the operating room. Again, it works just OK for motorcycle visors.
That's where I got the idea from - Scuba diving in the Maldives.
I thought you were just supposed to spit in your mask, rub it around, and rinse with whatever water you're diving in. That's what we did back in the sixties. Very inexpensive...
But I find that baby shampoo works a treat. You know, the stuff that doesn't sting your eyes.

I have a technical explanation for why it works. (For anybody geeky enough to care).
The soap allows film-wise condensation as opposed to drop-wise condensation. When the water vapor condenses drop-wise the drops on the shield scatter the light and you can't see. The film of condensed water doesn't scatter the light and you can see.
Maybe a chemist could explain why the soap does that good thing.
Adding soap to water reduces the surface tension so that the water sheets instead of drawing up into a ball/bead.
The simple explaination (the only kind I understand):
Soap is a "long" molecule with a water lovin' end and a non-water lovin' end. When mixed with water the water loving end, naturally, attaches to the water molecule. The other side tries to keep away from the water altogether. Result is they wind up at the surface. That forces the water molecules further apart at the surface. Surface tension decreases as the molecules are further apart. So the bead "breaks" and the water "sheets".
