Frank, thank you very much for finding & posting that page about Jack & Allan Pagan. I doubt Allan will mind.
I knew the basics of all that but not the details. This is a very accomplished Father & Son with much to remember and take great pride in.

Hey Allan,

I am truly sorry for your loss.

After reading the postings here, and the obit and the posting from Frank, it's clear how close you two were. And also what an outstanding and talented man your father was. You have much to be proud of... and much to be thankful for.

The pain will never go away completely, but it will become easier to bear.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. It is difficult to watch someone die from cancer. My father suffered the same fate, and left this earth on 8/24/02.

Allan,
Our thoughts are with you, and your family, during this time of change and transition. I lost my mother in '94 (Though I feel her guidance almost daily) and my father is battling both Parkinson's and lymphoma. Take solace in knowing that your father is now home.

To each of you that has expressed condolences and kind wishes, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It just goes to show one more time what a great board this is and how incredible its members truly are...

Words escape me to adequately describe the feelings of loss I have right now as the man was not just my Father, but also a partner and my dearest friend. Perhaps Walt Whitman put it best...

O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up--for you the flag is flung--for you the bugle trills,

Understandable that you feel that way. You do need your own time for healing.

BUT, you also need to remain involved for your own good. Your 'family' needs your involvement too - mutual nurturing and support - and healing together.

Big bend end of October? Need some help with that? I am sure some will help.

Sad. This is sad.

I lost my mom last year - way too early and the only solace in the whole thing I have found is when I consider that I was lucky to have her for as long as I did - even if it wasn't long enough.

But, as I know too well - this time is so hard. When it comes down to it - it sucks. Period.

Try to remember/concentrate on the good times.

Dallara, I can relate to the pain you are feeling. Take comfort in knowing that you have the support of the people around you and that you are not alone.

Try to do some things that will make you happy and not dwell on what has happened. It is important to remember the good times, cry, and remember that healing will take time. Marsha and my prayers are with you.
