Hard Wiring a plug.

Iv'e been using an adapter through the Powerlet. to run my iphone linked radar detector, which in turn has usb out that is used to keep phone charged. Ive grown weary of hiding those wires with zip ties, plus it doesnt seem the best in the wet stuff Also, It appears Ive lost that adaptor lol.

So, looking to wire in a 12v cigarette lighter plug. I forgot I had one, came with the bike, found it in my kit, fumbling for my torx45. I want to install it out of the way, make it more protected, and easier to take off/on. I put that detector in the car for long trips....Iv'e looked, and am still looking, but not finding which circuit to use, or which empty fuse position. my goal is Id like it to be ignition switched. the Powerlet is always on.

I'm sure Ill find something with a good search, or figure it out when I look at it... but thought id ask the beemer crew for guidance.

My setup is not quite perfect, but works very well.

I have 2 non original looms on the bike:
first powers the extra full beam lights, the 2nd accessories.
Both are relay switched looms from PIAA.

They are wired directly to the battery for power - but they are also switched by am independant push switch mounted inside the hand-guards (one each side).

The relay in each case is switched by current from the circuit that powers the instrument lights.
The full beam loom relay is powered by the full-beam indicator bulb circuit.
The accessories loom relay is switched by the circuit for (IIRC) the rev-counter illumination bulb (or possibly one of the others).

This way the relay switching does not interfere with any of the main circuits on the bike, and they can draw full power from the battery when in use, AND they are off when the ignition is off, guaranteed.
