Its not easy to find neutralgear when you stand still.
The light works normal, but every time I hold in the clutchandel, it light up. I see it every time I use the gear when I drive.
Stupid! Why does this happend? Do you got same problem? Any solutions?
Neutral light comes on when I use the clutch.

I replied to your original posting in an other thread about this, but it looks like it got buried .
Airhead bikes would have the same issue, if a diode in the starter relay failed and allowed electrical flow in each direction instead of stopping it in one direction .
I don't have a wiring diagram for oilhead bikes, so I can't confirm if this is also true with oilheads or not, but it sure sounds the same .
This has to do with the starter safety interlock, so you can't engage the starter with the bike in gear .

I found a wiring diagram, for an '04 RT, the starter relay has a diode .
You can remove the relay from the bike, remove the cover, if it isn't a sealed relay and replace the diode .
You can get a 1N4001, or similar diode from Radio Shack, or other electrical component supplier and easily solder it in .
Or you can replace the relay, your call .

Hi azbmwrider, I didn't realize that's why the starter had that diode. Well done!
The OP can confirm the problem by starting the bike, removing the starter relay, and seeing if the neutral stops coming on with the clutch actuated. I bet you're right.

Thank you AZBMWRIDER. Is this located under the fueltank? Do I have to remove it?

Re: Neutral light comes on when I use the clutch.
I just checked my bike and the relay is in the fuse box, forward most row of relays and furthest to the left side of the bike .
Use the fuse puller tool in the fuse box to get it removed .
