Removing the sport screen

Probably a silly question but thought I would ask. I went to remove the sport screen last night and removed the screws and the little outside washers. There's a rubber gasket or bushing in the hole. I was thinking the screen would just pull off but it seems to be fairly well attached. Didn't want to just yank it off and damage something. What am I missing here?

If its the same thing as mine, and I remember correctly, it will just pop off. they're a bit "Fiddly" to get back in, but nothing awful.

After some years of being attached the rubber will often stick pretty hard to both the shield and the metal bracket itself. You just have to pull hard and work them out. Sometimes the rubber inserts will tear and you'll need to replace them. I have found replacements at both Lowes and Home Depot in the specialty fasteners dept. And they are far less expensive the the oem BMW part. Less than $2 each as I recall. Resist the urge to use any type of silicone style rubber dressing or lubricant on the bushings where they slide into the bracket hole. If you do your windshield will not stay in.
