changing out a turn signal stalk

Post by cswett »

Broke off my right front turn-signal stalk in a garage tip-over. Have a replacement coming but unsure on how to take off the old one and install the new.
It's part number 63132306318

Anyway, I'm unclear about how the wires slip out of the old stalk. Do I have to disassemble and unwire the turn indicator? Please forgive my ignorance, but I'm a total moron when it comes to wrenching.
Appreciate any advice

Just done both the fronts on my Rockster.

Yes, you need to completely disassemble the entire indicator. The wires are a push-fit onto the lamp shroud/reflector part. It's actually pretty easy once you get in there.
