Oil filter wrench for 2011.....

Post by roadfool »

..... Anyone found a wrench that will work on the cam head? It's pretty tight down there, can't even punch a screw driver through it with out removing the header. Any ideas guys?

I had been using a band type strap wrench, which just barely fit. I just recently upgraded to the A&S Wrench which has the oil filler cap wrench built in (my 2012 did not come with a tool kit ). I'm very pleased with it. Cheaper versions are available. Max BMW sells one, Beemerboneyard does as well.

I'm not sure what you mean by having to remove the (exhaust?) header. I used a screwdriver to remove the filter on my first oil change and had no problem.

Thanks Karamazov. :smt023 Just placed an order with Beemer Boneyard.

It didn't look like I had enough space to be able to twist the screw driver.
