R1150GS crash bars on R

Post by duegi »

Anyone had/have access to test fitting GS crash bars on the R bike? How did it go?
Snooping through past threads for info on putting GS crash bars on the R, anyone seen anything?

Don't have my R1150GSA anymore, add ons were easy on the GSA since it already looked like a Transformer.
Every add on has and adds style to a GSA...

No interest in Hepco Becker & SW Motech crash bars, butt ugly like most crash bars.
Ztechnik are pricey for being designed to break away on impact.

The chassis is a bit different, as I found out trying to fit GS panier racks onto the R
I could either mount the rack on the rear and the footrest or I could mount it on the rear and the front mounting point.
By moving the front tab of the rack I made it to fit. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25656#p223366
Probably you'll encounter such an almost fit experience with a GS(A) crashbar.
