Hi,
I'm in california for another 10 days. I'm in Camarillo and will borrow a bikefrom my friend for the coming weekend. Therefore my qestion: where should I go to in order to have nice relaxing ride with nice views and not too much traffic? I'd like to go back to Camarillo the same day... Any suggestions?

Re: Ride in California
You are in the best place possible. From Camarillo you can go just about any direction and have a great ride.
Checkout Google maps for a route up to Solvang to avoid most of highway 101. Beautiful country and Solvang is a Swedish tourist town.
Go north past Santa Barbara to just past Gaviota and you can pick up CA 1 along the coast towards Lompoc.
You can checkout the Rock Store on Mulholland Highway. Had south down CA 1 along the coast to Leo Carrillo State beach and make a left onto Mulholland Highway. Just after Kanan Dume Road you will descend the legendary Snake, and the Rock Store is about 3 miles past the bottom. Be warned, the place is packed on Sundays, and the crazies and the CHP are all out. Saturday is much more laid back.
Enjoy!

I'm very close by, near Ventura and can offer some suggestions, or even a guided tour with you on my R1200R. I've recently started a Lost Rider Tours business and am offering day or multi day all inclusive tours. Want to go to Death Valley and camp 1 night?... It's about a 4-5 hour ride from here and stunning.
See this thread for more info, or on my website.

Hwy 33 through Ojai up to Maricopa and back would be a nice scenic day ride from Camarillo, like mentioned you can blast down hwy 1 and turn onto any of the Malibu canyon roads, especially Mulholland Drive, better known as The Snake. Lots of neat scenic roads between here and Santa Barbara, or you could even go up to Angeles Crest for a longer ride, though I haven't checked road conditions since our last storm to see if you could get all the way over yet, the snow levels were pretty low. And you'd have to take interstate to get there, but very nice scenic road.

Hey, just saying it might be something he's interested in, turn a day ride into a 2 day Death Valley trip, or get Lost photos of him riding in SoCal.
I would highly recommend it if it was someone else, I can't help it's me offering this new service at a very reasonable price.
I'm more than willing to help him out with advice on here too for free, like I always have.
Would be nice to ride a R1200R out here though, especially mine since we all know black with pinstripes...bla bla bla !
