Zip Ties (Cable ties) removal

Post by jfortenbery »

Hey,

Fairly new to list and fairly new to BMW's (bikes that is). I have a 2004 R1150R and I've noticed the concensus on this list seems to be to replace the gas tank QDs w/ metal and cut the electrical harness zip ties.

I have two questions:

1) WHY cut the zip ties?
2) Which ones should be removed? All? Some? Anyone have pics - it'll save a thousand words!

Thanks in advance,
Jeff Fortenbery
