Calling UK 06-11 owners. advice on SW-Motech quick-lok

Post by dicebox »

Hi

I've just pulled the trigger on the SW Motech side carrier frames for my 09 R1200R. Looking at the installation instructions, there are 4 quick-lok attachment points for the carriers, one of which is on a U shaped metal bar that attaches to the license plate holder. However, the diagram looks like a US licence plate arrangement, and the only screws available on the UK licence plate would mean the metal bar obscuring the licence number.

are their any UK owners with these carriers can confirm they only use the three quick-lok points attached to teh frame for their side carriers?

Thanks

Im in USA, but like to add my 2 cents. I have the SW-Motech on my US 08 R12R. The twist lock at the back license position is critical. Without it, i believe it would flex too much, worst with filled side carriers.

+1. Just installed these and the license plate part is one of the key pieces to having them function properly.
