Anyone know if there are any replacement bulbs to go from incandescent to LED on the 2011-2012 R12Rs? OR does the entire light box unit have to be replaced? Anyone have any luck with this change over and if so, what part / part # did you use?
thanks

Here's some turn signals, OEM so you won't have any CAN-BUS issues with the LED's since they built in the needed resistors to "trick" the system into thinking a lamp was still there. We has some on the F800R and really liked them, someday when I want to refresh my R I'll probably go this route. There's different ones for the front vs the rear.
I'm not sure about tail lights, never researched that, but if you just replace the lamp with an LED that's not designed for BMW bikes you'll get an error on the dash at the very least.
Beware, A&S has many temping items for your bike, if you have a question about anything give them a call, they're very nice to deal with.

thanks Lost... so there's no bulb only replacement, has the be the whole assembly then I see. I'll price the BMW part vs those and see which makes more sense.

Wieser makes a module that replaces the bulb and socket in standard BMW turn signals.r1200rclassic wrote:Anyone know if there are any replacement bulbs to go from incandescent to LED on the 2011-2012 R12Rs? You can find them multiple places, one of which is eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-R1200GS-A-R ... 179wt_1139.

Re: LED Turn Signal and break lights..
I swapped the OEM turn signals, not only the bulbs, and the tail light unit with OEM LED equivalents. The turn signals were plug-and-play. The tail light required a visit to the dealer and $75 to clear the LAMP error on the instrument cluster that appeared after I installed it. The bike misread the reduced power draw of the new LED tail light as a bad bulb.r1200rclassic wrote:Anyone know if there are any replacement bulbs to go from incandescent to LED on the 2011-2012 R12Rs?
