So, I am somewhat trying to sell my rockster but my asking price is perhaps too high fore people in the market. My question is: Would it be worth my time to put used r1150r shocks on the bike along with the stock exhaust and remove the PIAA's, valve cover guards, case holders and system cases? That would drop the price to about $4600.
As it sits right now, I am asking $5500 which seems like a fair price, especially watching bike move on CL and fleabay, as well as local dealerships. Am I way off?

Re: Question about selling the bike
Afraid I have no idea about current fair price. My only suggestion would be to try that OE configuraton you mention at lower asking price and guage response. It's end of the riding season, and maybe the lower price point is needed.
FWIW - I'm doing the same thing myself with the Buell: reconfigured it to near-OE setup for (hopefully) quick sale.

Just started the sad process of taking her apart. Need to find an affordable oem seat, any height, to throw on the bike so I can put the Sargent up for grabs.

Re: Question about selling the bike
You could leave the luggage racks on, and price the bike as "naked." List the cases/rack separately as a footnote to the bike price (or negotiable). A lot of folks will likely find themselves looking for cases anyhow. Keeping them with the bike until the bike sells is perhaps the way to go. They'll be easy to sell if the bike buyer chooses not to "opt in". They'll fit several other bikes.
