So we know that other aftermarket screens will attach to the stock R1200R mounts. Kind of curious as to why someone can't make cases that attach to the stock mounts. Can you patent a mounting system? Is it like razors where only gillette can sell blades that fit their razors? Since I haven't been riding for almost 18 months has anyone made mounting system that doesn't detract from the lines / look of the bike. I like the givi cases but the mounting system is kind of ugly and I would not always ride with the cases attached.
Thanks.

I think the BMW cases are a tough act to follow, they are made very well and are really a good value. Best in the bizz.
ASK WHY
Re: Curious about side cases...
they are actually made third party by a company called SHAD based in Spain. I just ordered a SHAD 49 for my rear case knowing that I can save a ton of money for the same quality.Acpantera wrote:I think the BMW cases are a tough act to follow, they are made very well and are really a good value. I have no doubt about the quality of the BMW side cases. But what I mean is that if a company wanted to design cases that fit the standard bmw mounts could they?

There's nothing but development costs, marketing costs and the potential for profit from keeping anyone from making cases that attach to the standard BMW racks.LeonardoNYC wrote:I have no doubt about the quality of the BMW side cases.
