R1200R Test Drive Patch

Post by creamora »

The Commercial:
The camera pans back in a school classroom after hours meeting. Little world flags adorn the wall. On the chalk board is written "BMW R1200R Victims Support Group". The room is full of folks sitting in a circle in riding gear. A single rider stands and raises his hand - "My name is Ed, and I took a test drive on a BMW R1200R - and I bought it." The room erupts in applause. Riders stand to welcome and support this latest 'victim'. "It's gonna be OK, really, this is just the beginning."

kudos to ka5ysy for the idea. =D>
My Latin is rusty, the gist of the rocker is "I tested-I purchased"

<<<< believer here, instead of being like normal people and going to a dealer to test ride a bike, i actually rented one for 5 days in Arizona, needless to say my kawasaki vulcan is now for sale and as soon as it sells i will be getting r1200r.
then i will have to make that patch for my jacket

There needs to be some vinyl stickers made up. I would gladly put one on the back of my helmet. :D

Mike wrote about vinyl stickers being made up. If anyone's interested this company I'm posting does that. I ordered some decals from them a couple of years back from their library and they were fine as long as I had them on. Sold the vehicle that they were on recently. I had their web site bookmarked so I just looked and they do custom work. For their 6" X 6" decals they charge ($10-colored vinyl) and ($20-special vinyl). I don't know what their custom price would be but I checked their web site and if someone wants there's an application email there to send for a quote.

Thanks Guys! I used to make decals, patches and such for military aviation. My current marketing shop can crank out a short order of these full color on vinyl, die cut and laminated for like $1-$2 each. Patches for not much more each. We can do first class mail letter mailing to keep it down too. :-k

I have a bunch of BMW slogan rondels I've worked up for my bike this year to dingle up the back of my cases. 8-[ When I did Squadron Insignia sheets I put a half dozen of various sizes on a single letter size sheet.

I'll put together a BMW sheet of art and post this weekend. In the mean time continue this thread with comments for a final design and other ideas.

Patches, etc are a good idea, however; a problem I see using the roundel (my lawyer hat on!) is a BMW trademark/copyright issue. :-k

Probably would be a good idea to get written clearance from the Mother Ship.

You can count me in also. And I think the patch you displayed is pretty much right on.

Don't ask don't tell. They will NOT permit it. They have very strict standards that they change periodically just to piss all the local BMW clubs off. Their latest demands make club emblems pretty much ugly and worthless. Most local clubs are giving them a big razzberry and continuing to use the logos that were approved about 10 years ago.
