Nippy Norman's hugger: Problems

Finally got around today to installing my NN hugger. At least attempting to.

When I went to attach the hugger's support bracket to the swingarm, I found the the two screws wouldn't tighten. Hmm. Then I found that I could wiggle the screws out of the swingarm's threads. Damn, they're a smaller diameter than the OEM screws.

I just finished emailing NN, expressing my concern. Thought about using the OEM screws, but I doubt that they're long enough to properly attach the bracket to the swingarm, especially since the bracket will be bearing the weight of the hugger.

Anyone else experience this? Going back out to the garage to put the rear wheel back on.

Sigh. I hate when this crap happens.

Yeah, BUT: Did you use LocTite? I didn't (the first time), and a few days later the hugger dropped down onto my tire, making a startling noise! LocTite is our friend...

I recently needed a couple of bolts except longer for my bike. I found a store that primarily sold bolts where they measured the thread and sold me the bolts. McMasters has a large assortment but I thought the thread pitch was important so .... the bolt store.
I see where you said screws and surly New Jersey has a retail outlet that could fit your needs.
Put dat hugger on...

Yep. I had read previously that it was a good thing to do when installing the hugger.
