Question about Dynabeads...

For the last 40k I was using Dynabeads in my tires. I am changing tires myself, but I do not have tire balancer, so the Dynabeads came in handy and I do like the results. Last time I purchased those Beads, I think I paid about 13 bucks for the bag of 12oz. After my trip to Redmond, I will be ready very soon for a new set of tires. I checked the web site and other vendors and it looks like DynaBeads price gone up by almost 4 times.
I do like Dynabeads, but 46 bucks plus shipping for a bag of 12oz is a bit too much.
I found a very small stainless steel balls from the ball bearing and they do fit trough the valve stem.
So, will those balls harm my tires
Any intelligent answer will be greatly appreciated.

Why do you need 12 oz. of dynabeads? I recall that I am using 2 oz. of them in each tire.

2oz per tire,is ~ $8 a tire to balance. Not bad if it works and you don't have a balancer.

There is a generic reference for beads in a few of the posts, something worth looking at...

I keep thinking about using beads, but I have a balancer and just can't bring myself to not use it.

One of the selling points for dynabeads that I like is the claim that they cause the tire to remain in balance throughout its life, even with irregular wear. I've used them for about 8,000 miles with good results.

Why can't you re-use the dyna-beads? Is there any way to re-claim them while changing the tire and put them in the new tire as a part of the changing process?

That's exactly what I do....
Use a mini sugar/flour scoop to scoop them out of the old tire, & funnel them into the original applicator bottle to 're-measure' ~2oz.
Add some from my stash if necessary, and pour them into the new tire just before you seal the tire beads....

I've re-used my current 'load' of beads for 3 tire changes now......

To buy 12oz bag was much cheaper than 1 or 2oz bags.
I remember getting 5 bags at one time. Few for me and some for my friends.
I always put 2oz in the front tire and 3oz in the back tire.
My son just payed $12.50 for 3oz bag, since I could not find my Dynabeads.
The price of the Dynabeads went up 400%.

Yes. Still a good deal and I like the results too.

I did think that I was dreaming, but I found an old receipt for those Dynabeads together with the sealed 12oz bag.
In the past, I did pay $13.50 dollars per 12oz bag.

P.S. I should have invested in the Dynabeads company.

check out your local truck shop they use them in semi truck tires too
