Spark plugs and oil filter questions

Post by Jpainter187 »

Well, I've been doing some research the past few days about spark plugs and oil filters for the Rockster. I was hoping to get a pair of the NGK 2667 and 6546 plugs, but cannot get them both from one single place, not even Advanced Auto Parts which has been recommended in the past. So I was wondering if anyone has gone with the spark plug set that Beemer Boneyard offers, which consists of 2 Bosch YR6LDE's and 2 NGK BKR7EKC-N's?

Also, I have everything to do my next oil change BUT a new filter. I know many places sell 'master kits' but I can't ever seem to get the filter part number needed, wether it be a Bosch or Mann filter. I have been able to find a K&N but at around $15-20 a piece I don't know if it would be worth it, since I could get at least 2 or 3 Bosch filters for that price.

IIRC those are the original fitment plugs so they should be ok (stand to be corrected, can't remember the exact plugs specified off the top of my head).

Don't know exactly what you mean by "master kit" - but I tend to buy my service items in bundles - they include the crush washers for the gear and final drive boxes which are always handy to have extra of.

I was referring to the following: http://www.beemerboneyard.com/11421460845cko.html

But I prefer to only buy one filter and was hoping to get it locally. I just wanted to see if someone could provide me with the correct Bosch or Mann part number so when I call around to see who sells them near me I can know exactly what I'm looking for.

Here is a link to an Amazon store I've ordered plugs from before ( no connection, blah, blah) and had quick shipping, beat Boneyards price
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000IUPYZI/ref ... B000IUPYZI
Scroll 1/2 way down and it links to the NGK plug also...

Here's a link to the OEM filter: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/de ... 1421460845
Alot have been happy using the Bosch filter #3330

hope this helps

The plugs that beemer boneyard sell are the same that came on the bike, and that dealers sell for our bikes.

I bought a set from them...the bosh/NGK set is all I've ever had in my bike...they work just fine. Watch out when you stray from the stock setup. Your plug socket that came with bike's tool kit may not work on other plugs (different sized sockets may be needed). Then you need to locate a socket that has wall thin enough to work... :?

I don't need to deal with that... I just stay with the Bosch/NGK plugs.
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...

For some reason I was thinking that NGK was all that was used from the factory for these bikes... Thought I had read that somewhere but maybe now. I will order the stock plugs from Amazon. It'll only be about $27 or $28 from them. Thanks guys! That's just one of my many troubling Rockster questions answered!
