crooked handlebar with new front end

i came into a set of new forks at a price i could not pass
after i put everything back together my bar is not centered.
forks are the same height so i am at a loss

Not centered????

Do you mean when the front tire is pointing straight the handlebar is not parallel to the CL of the front axle

or

The handlebar is offset more to one side than to the other (longer on one side than the other)

the bar is dingle, not too far to one side or the other.
bike tracks straight and true, just not where it is pointed

Heh. Looks like you ran into the auto-censor. Think of another word.

There's a procedure where you bounce the front suspension before you tighten down the pinch bolts to take out any asymmetry, but I don't remember the details... Or, your new forks are bent. (I hope not.) [-o< [-o< [-o<
