I am looking to buy a sat nav and am waiting for the new TomTom Rider Pro
Details, apart from the marketing blurb, are sketchy at present, but I have got some info back from TomTom which you may want to be aware of :
My question was
Hi. I am looking at buying the TomTom Rider Pro Europe but it seems to be only supplied with a passive mount at present. I am making the assumption that this will not allow unit charging when fitted to my motorcycle. Is or will there be an option for an active mount for this system please? Many thanks. -p
The reply was:
Dear Mr. Smith,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Care. My name is ????? and I will be working with you to resolve your query.
The reference number for this incident is ??????-??????.
I can confirm that both the Rider Urban and the Rider Pro will come with passive mounts which do not allow for charging while on the bike. These devices can charge via a USB connection to a computer and should have a 6-8 hour battery life. I can confirm that we will be selling a separate accessory in the future which should allow for charging while on the bike however this accessory has not been released at this time.
I hope that I have answered all your questions but if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to respond back using the instructions at the end. I will be happy to help you with any further queries.
With Kind Regards
