Finally getting around to posting my own glamor shots. These were taken at Pier 30 in San Francisco, near the (former) Red's Java House.

Nice pictures. What's your initial reaction to your Cee BaIly 20" Windshield?

That looks like a low seat. How tall are you? Inseam etc. Do you get much wind noise, buffeting, etc.

My bike got a torque wrench for Christmas, but what it really wanted was a windshield...

It's certainly better than no windshield. That's the only direct comparison I can make. I bought the BMW touring screen bracket, sans windscreen, since I knew the BMW offering wasn't going to cut it. So I've got nothing really to compare it to.

Yep. Low seat on a low-chassis bike. I'm 5'8" with a 29" or 30" inseam. Not terribly short, but certainly not tall. I avoided BMWs for years because I thought they were all too tall, but I can almost get both feet flat on the ground with this bike. I could probably afford to go with the standard seat, even.

I can see over the Cee Baily reasonably well. Offhand, though, it's louder than I thought it would be. A lot of low rumbling coming from the top edge. Somehow I expected a screen that large to give me a bit more quiet. I'm going to try tipping back the whole thing (as mentioned elsewhere on this forum) and see if that improves it at all.

what it really wanted was a windshield...

I've spent so much time at high speed on various bikes that at this point I can't really fathom riding for any length of time without a windscreen. Others seem to be okay with it, but the wind bugs the crap out of me after about 15 minutes. So yeah, I highly recommend it.

Mt. Hamilton. No wonder the scenes looked familiar. We used to live at the bottom of Mt. Hamilton road and rode to the observatory many many times.

I'm going to try tipping back the whole thing (as mentioned elsewhere on this forum) and see if that improves it at all.

When you do tip it back post how it works for you. I too have a 20" and am getting to much buffiting for my liking. Also let us know how you do it...

Honestly riding without the windshield is my favorite but would love to find a windshield that works for me so I can do some serious road trips this summer. Hwy speeds on a windy day will kick your but...

Ya lucky bastid... Although can't complain - it was sunny & 12C here today! Had to remove the Gerbings.

Hope this trip is smoother than the Yukon was - should be no sweat now that you've got old faithful back!
