Remus End Can

Post by finsally »

I bought a 03 r1150r in May this year the bike came with a Remus Revolution end can which was not fitted when a bought it...if i take off the stock can and fit the Remus will it make any differnce to the running of the bike,e.g will i have to get the throttle bodies balanced. etc I have not got the Y-piece just the end can.

Have just forked out £120 to get the throttle and valves adjusted by my local dealer,so dont really want to have to take back.

Cheers Bob

No you wont have to re-adjust anything. I would persanally try and get the Y pipe as well. Makes a lot of difference.
I had a Remus full system on my 1st R, with a chip, and went very well.
My now R has full Staintune system.

You won't need to do anything.

If you're having any issues, try resetting the motronic chip. I doubt you'll notice much difference with just the can and not the y-pipe as well, but it will sound a little different. The y-pipe drops a huge amount of weight from the bike and makes it noticably louder.

Whatever you do, keep the stock system (don't throw it away). Its way to expensive to replace if you decide you don't like the full Remus exhaust. If you want, you can try to sell it (the stock system), but don't count on it.

Ditto on the posts above. Consider forking $20 to become a member of the site and learn how to do basic maintenance quite successfully and won't have to fork any more cash to the stealership.
