Sydney Ride - all welcome

Post by Mark »

To all those in the Sydney AUSTRALIA area who may be interested in a ride with other BMW owners this weekend.
My wife rides an F800ST and has arranged a ride with some of the members of the F800 forum for this weekend. I thought it would be fun to join them and expand the group. F800's and R12R's fit well together. In fact any bikes are welcome.

The ride is departing from the McDonalds in Windsor on Saturday 26th at 9:30am and will be travelling up the Putty Road to Singleton and then back to Sydney via Wollombi, Buckety, Brooklyn and the Old Pacific Highway back to Hornsby.

rough Google Map route (ignore the strange detour it has added around Calga).

No idea how many are looking to come - two for certain (me and my wife) but one or any number more are welcome.
If the weather is bad (wet) we will not be going but it's looking great for a run in the country if today is anything to go by.

Hope some of you are free and are interested.
Casual attitude and love of riding are the only requisites.

Mark,

Like you I would love to connect with like riders. There is nothing better than sharing a road and a story aalong the way when you are off the bike. be it lunch, ONE beer or on arrival -wherever.

Some little time ago I started a thread which got a few interested parties (around July /August) we met up and got on really well because ... you guessed it, we like riding our bikes.

I tried to get something up & running for Sydney riders and was politely told not to split the forum. I deferred and moved over to 'Group Rides' on the drop down menu on the home page. Perhaps that's where you should go. I will try to join up with you, weather permitting but you might also try to make contact where suggested. There are enough of us to be banned by recent legislation (anti gang stuff) - it is a question of who is online and who is available on the day.

Hi Mark- I owned an F800s before my rr so certainly have a soft spot for the little brother. Unfortunately (or otherwise) my wife is test riding a Monster that morning (and for fun I will tag along with a K1300R).

Hope you get a good turn out and would enjoy hooking up if you do it again.

Stay in touch, Michael

Bodes, thanks for the tip. I've placed a copy of the original post in the Group Rides section. Sorry to the moderators if I have created any issue here.

Michael, like you, I owned a F800 before my R12R but it was an ST. That baby now belongs to my wife so I do get to see it often (still get to wash it too) and although I had always planned to take it for a ride now and then, since getting the R12R I have not managed to do so.

To everyone else in the region, if you are free and would like to join us for a ride, you are most welcome.

Weather today is not so good - lots of wind and the dust is back (not as bad as earlier in the week).
Let's try for another day.
