Great Ride

Post by tonyff »

Hey All,

I spend some time lurking on this site and ask the occasional question. I have benefited immensely from your input. I just thought I would share some happy news. First, I received my title today. Yes, last payment made. The girl is mine.

Second, I celebrated before the title arrived by taking a nice long ride through the hills in Colorado. For those that make it this way, I'm attaching a link to the Google map. <http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source= ... 876709&z=7>

Some wonderful twisting smooth roads. Of course, the interstate was just a grind, but it was getting late and I had to get home.

Take Care,

Tony

Tony:

Have you ever run the "Oh My God" Road between Central City and Idaho Springs? I made a run down the road about 8 years ago and I have been told that they have paved an alternate version of the original gravel single lane road. The old road was a hoot to ride on a dual-sport, plus you had the fun of worrying about going over the edge in a lot of places

It looks like the actual name is Virginia Canyon Road / Two Brothers Road.

A paved version of the road should be great on the RR !

Hey Thanks for the words guys. I am going to have to check out this "Oh My God Road". Anything with that name HAS to be good.

My next two weekends are shot, but I should be good after that!!

For 10 years I partisapated in the AHRMA events in Steam Boat Springs, I always took a Dual sport or a road bike along with the race bikes, we would get there a few days early and ride around. Colorado is a great place for motorcycles.

The last AHRMA event there was 1998, and I've been back once, I need to pass through there again.

I love Steamboat. I have not been yet this year on the bike, but went a couple of times over the winter. I got my 2 wheeled baby 2 seasons ago and have gone up to Steamboat on the bike a half of dozen times or so.

If you make it this way, shoot me a [email protected]

Keep it upright
