Anybody else waiting for the Palm Pre?

Post by garylspolar »

The Blackberry Bold excites me more than the iPhone ever did, but I'm waiting until the Palm Pre gets here to make a new cell phone purchase. My Palm Centro will then be retired.

I'm already on Sprint, the exclusive carrier for the new phone/music player/video player/web browser/.......... I really, really want this phone.

I'm in gadget rehab.

I want off the grid.

I love my (unlocked) Centro and won't be switching for awhile because I prefer to not be under contract with my carrier. Although I am excited about the Pre! Love the direction that Palm is going. Hardware-wise, I'm not a fan of sliders but it looks to be less clunky than the G1.

I had an older Treo 680 on AT&T - I liked it but it was bulky and heavy. Good features. Then I got a generation 1 iPhone for...free so I switched. Eh, it's definitely lacking some features compared to the Palm, but the Palm OS was dated. I'd be willing to try the new one if it: 1)is offered at a decent price point and 2)offered on AT&T. Sounds like #2 isn't happening so I'll stay with what I have.

I've been using my Blackjack series 1 for over a year now...waiting to see what comes 'round. I passed on the iphone because of the silly restrictions apple put in place like bricking the phone if you mod it, no removable battery, etc.

I like the look of the Pre but i am wary of Palm after seeing Treo after Treo get returned a few years back. I kept my old 600 cause of the ridiculous fail rate of the 650s.

I will wait and see...I will not be a beta-guinea pig for any tech company.
