Air Box Surprise!

Post by rdsmith3 »

I changed my air filter tonight. I wasn't going to do it because I did not think it would be that dirty (and it wasn't) but can you tell from these photos of the air box that I have a toddler in the family?

I know it was him. I can see the snacks he eats -- cheerios, chips, tic tacs, etc.

He is just as interested in mechanical things as I am

Darn....that child is a hell of a wrench to get into the air box as I can't believe that he had the attention span to put all those munchies through the air box snorkel !!!! So he must have taken the seat off and the airbox top off to show you he can "wrench"

Definitely keep him......... =D> =D>

Back in 2004 on my way out west across Colorado and up to Spokane and Canada, one of my gas receipts went missing somewhere around Yellowstone. When I got back home 3 weeks later I was doing my tune-up and found a gas receipt in my air box.....No, it wasn't my missing one, just a random one belonging to someone else. I'm still waiting to hear from another rider somewhere that he found my missing receipt in his air box.

The above is true.

Might be a mouse, stashing stuff away. I talked with a guy restoring an old Brit bike that wouldn't turn over and he thought the motor was seized. When he pulled the head the whole combustion chamber was full of nut shells. A mouse was accessing his motor through the exhaust pipe and made a little home for himself.

I just had a nice run in with a mouse and my Saab 9-3, he made a nest down by my wiper fluid reservoir with parts of my riding gloves and other crap he found in my garage. Don't rule that possibility out! The dayum things can get to just about anywhere.

Hey now, don't be so quick to jump to conclusions.

He was feeding the squirrels living in there....

Well, now I know where to get some munchies if I get hungry.

BTW, I don't think it was a mouse. There were no mouse droppings and no nesting materials.
