Need help on extending brake and shifter levers

Post by RVC7 »

I've got size 12 boots and the shifter and brake levers are just not far out enough for me. I did a search on this board with no luck on the matter. Is there an easy and inexpensive way or parts to extend them forward about two inches? Thanks in advance.

Here you go http://www.suburban-machinery.com/R1150R.htm. Not that cheap but works.

Hey

Send me your email, I've drawn up a little simple brake pedal extension
you could probly make for under $5. I had figured it out when I was
looking to relocate my footpegs.

I ended up going to GS footpeg plates and pegs and brake and shift
levers, but that didn't move the footbrake pedal or shift pedal any
farther away.

That shifter extension in the bove post is probly the best you can do
unless you go to a small machine or welding ship, maybe take a picture
of that with. They could probly fix you up for half or less with about
the same thing.

You need one (or two) of these:

I've had one on my shift lever and one on my brake pedal almost since I brought the bike home six years ago. I wouldn't ride a BMW without one on each side, and I don't even have size 12's !

I put one on my brake lever when I bought it but took it off shortly - more in the way than anything.

And it doesn't do anything to move the pedal farther away from the footpeg.

why not just move your feet back a little on the footpegs
if your riding on your insteps with the heal of your boots up against the back of your footrest thenwhy not just add a packing piece to the back edge of your footrest.
however for better control you should be riding with the balls of your feet on the pegs not your instep.
